Lr2Pikchur plugin
To install, open the Zip file into a safe folder (i.e. one you're not going to delete). For example, I've created a folder called LR Plugins in my Documents folder and store all my Lightroom plugins there. This gives one location for everything and is independent of Lightroom. You can also place the pikchur.lrplugin into the Modules folder inside the Lightroom Presets folder, but I don't recommend this, because you cannot remove it via the Plugin Mananger.
Once the plugin is in a known location, open Lightroom and run the Plugin Manager (File>Plugin Manager). On the right, click Add. Navigate to the folder and select pikchur.lrplugin. Click Done. Lightroom will ask to update the catalog for the plugin, please agree to this for the plugin to work.
To use the plugin, run Export, then from the dropdown menu at the top, choose LR2Pikchur as per the top screen capture. Set up the export as per any normal export (e.g. watermark, sharpening, size, etc). The plugin automatically creates a temporary folder, and outputs an sRGB Jpeg. To upload you need to correctly enter your Twitter Username and Password. Optionally you can tick the message box and have the image and message appear on Twitter also.
With a successful upload, you'll see no error messages. The LR2Pikchur Metadata Field List, selectable in the Metadata panel of Library will become populated with information about the upload, for example, the URL of the upload, the message and the Twitter Username used. By clicking the arrow to the right of the URL, it will open in a browser for you to view.

If you make a mistake with the upload, for example, with the wrong username/password, you'll get an error message stating this. One other failure is not reducing the file size and quality which may take you over the 5Mb limit. There is one other Error message, a catchall error for when the server has a hiccup and neither uploads, nor returns a an error.

There is a sample plugin which will allow you to upload 5 times to Pikchur, after which time the plugin will cease to function. As with other plugins of this type, this is priced so I can buy a tea or coffee after Paypal and the taxman take their cut: €2.50 (plus VAT if applicable).
