lr4_spread_cover_new.pngI know my fellow Pixiq contributer Jose has done a full review, but as I’m a Craft and Vision author and the Pixiq Lightroom specialist, I feel I need to give the book a mention. I’m not going to repeat what Jose’s done with an indepth review. I’m only on page 184 of the 312 page book, but I have to say, Lightroom 4 Unmasked by Piet Van den Eynde is simply a beautiful book. The layout, the information, (not to say the number of times he references my book!) and the whole feel of the book is magnificent.

Everything is well labeled with good use of colour to clearly explain the tools. Extra information is well covered in the sidebars, and Piet’s use of language is relaxed and easy to read. There’s no pretense at all, and I’m flying through it. As I pass each section, I’m checking in my head what’s been included, and he’s missing nothing. I’m truly wishing this is a book I wrote! As well as being an introduction to Lightroom 4, there’s plenty of explanations about what’s changed since Lightroom 3, so older users aren’t left out of the picture.

This is the first of Craft and Vision's Big Books. At 312 pages, it's well worth $20, but you can get it for $15 until Tues 27th with the Code LR4FIVE.

Go over to Craft and Vision to get your copy now. You won't regret it. It's probably the best Lightroom 4 introduction book I've seen yet. There's also 50% off all ebooks until Friday, so you can get my 'Essential Development' bundle for only $3.50.

(P.S. After finishing I saw a few more references, and still think the book is fantastic. Congrats again Piet!)
