Martin Bailey’s new Craft and Vision eBook ‘Sharp Shooter’ is out today. It’s 36 Page (double pages really) book covering all aspects of sharpness in photographs. It’s hard to think that anyone could write so much about sharpening without waffle, but Martin covers so much ground that you end up thinking ‘Yes that is really sharpness too’.

The book covers camera techniques for better sharpness, using hyper focal distance to get front to back sharpness, as well as software tools to retain or rescue image sharpness. There’s even tips on working with longer focal lengths.

The book is a short, insightful look into getting sharper shots, from landscape to macro, to wildlife, from shallow depth of field to full depth of field. It’s well written and filled with sumptuous photos that help hammer the points home. Well worth a read, and one of the better primers on sharper photos.

If you’re not familiar with Martin, he’s also got an excellent book on Printing, called Making The Print which I reviewed over on Random Panderings.
