How I Lit This #3: Here’s a shot from this week where I used HSS (High Speed Sync) to render my background out of focus, while still using flash to control the light on my model. Normally using flash your shutter speed must be below the sync speed (anywhere from 1/125 to 1/250 depending on your camera), meaning you have to use narrower apertures like f16, rendering everything in focus. Here we talk about using HSS to over come this.
I’ve also been playing with After Effects this week, so I’ve new social media lower thirds and a new presenter lower third! I also want your thoughts on the new intro segment I put together. It’s not live yet, but I want your thoughts on it!
