A friend of mine is having a problem with sending out PDF files of her slideshows. She feels that people are simply printing off the PDF. While neither of us consider the print quality good enough, the clients must. I created an MP4 video to show how to watermark the Slideshow. It’s a quick a dirty video with a USB mic. My studio mic setup was all packed away a while ago, so the audio is only okay on this one!
You can also Download the PNG file shown in the video.
That’s a big IF.
No additional purchase required with my method.
All the same it would be better to have built in security in the PDF export!
OR – You can do this using the Acrobat controls IF you have a Pro version of Acrobat.
1) Open the PDF file in Acrobat Pro.
2) Go to Document Properties
3) Switch to the “Security” tab
4) Select from the “Security Method” drop down – “Password Security”
5) New Screen comes up – Go to the permissions area and turn ON “Restrict Editing and Printing of this document….”
6) From the “Printing Allowed” drop down you can select what a user who opens the PDF can do:
– No Printing the file
– Print in Low-Res (150 dpi)
– Print in High-Res
