Lightroom 2.7 and Camera Raw 5.7 Now Available

Tom Hogarty has announced the availability of Lightroom 2.7 and Camera Raw 2.7. Along with a slew of new camera support, these new versions support the demosaic algorithm from Lightroom 3 Beta 2. Basically it will render the file as seen in Lightroom, but not allow you to make changes to the new Develop additions, like Grain, Process Version, the new Post Crop Vignette options, or new Noise Reduction. Because of the change you need to make a change to the noise reduction settings in Lightroom, to match 2.6.

  1. I’m currently running LR 2.7 on Windows XP Pro, SP 3 (32-bit). I plan to upgrade to either XP Pro 64 bit or Windows 7 64 bit to improve performance. Will LR 2.7 or 3.x support either or both of these configuarions?

    1. Both applications have been 64 bit for a while, so I’m not sure what your question is Dave. I think there are some issues with 64 bit CD burning, but other than that they’re the same (apart from the extra memory access, of course).
