Installing Web Galleries

To install the gallery, you need to go to

User/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom on OS X,
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Adobe\Lightroom on XP-Note that Application Data is a hidden folder,
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\ on Vista,

where User is the name you log in with. Look for a folder called Web Galleries within. If it's not there, create it yourself. Unzip the file into this folder and restart Lightroom.
The new Gallery will apppear in the Right Hand Panel, in the Galleries Panel in LR1 and the Engines Panel in LR2.
In LR2, you can also open the Preferances and click 'Show Lightroom Presets folder' in the Presets section.

I recommend that you create an alias/shortcut to this Lightroom folder for future use.

Update
If you wish to comment on a gallery, can you please do so on the the gallery post, or the associated Lightroom Forum post? Thank you.

  • Hi, I just tried to download your awesome lightroom presets "dragan" 1-6, but unfortunately they didn't work. Can you please fix it somehow or can I get a hold of those presets somewhere else?

I used to use them alot, but I had to reinstall my macbook the other day and all my presets disappeared.

  • The only copies are on http://inside-lightroom.com.
AFAIK.. Make sure they are in the Develop Presets folder.

  • Hi,
I looked all over your blog and could not seem to find a way to contact you. Figured you might read this.

Anyway: I have just gone public with a new Lightroom tool that is a keyboard designed for lightroom users. While the keyboard is great, the real power is that it gives a shortcut to all of the quick develop settings and the same image editing tools in the develop mode.

I just wanted to tell you about it because you are someone "in the know" when it comes to lightroom.

If you are curious, check out the videos on the website. www.rpgkeys.com

Once the users learns the placement of the keys, they can edit 2000 images in less than 3 hours.

    Cheers
    Tim

  • Trying to get your Web Gallery template to appear in LR1.4.1 (OSX 10.5.4). On download it auto-unzips to xx.lrwebengine. Moving that to the Web Galleries folder has no result - does not appear on LR re-start. Also tried downloading without unzip and unzip in Web Galleries - also zilch. Where am I going wrong?
Thanks for any assistance you can give.

  • Oops - ignore my previous - it's for LR2 not 1 - got confused by your ref to Ver 1 - thought was LR but it's the gallery template!

  • Which one Brian?
If it's the new one, it's for LR2, because it uses newer code and the new sharpening.

  • AWSOME gallery plug-in you have made. Can't wait to see version 1.1 since I guess you will make additions for the plugin so it will work far better as a template for a site.

    Keep up the good work

  • on 10.4 light 2 it shows up in galleries, but only garbage....

By Blogger andrew, At 9:04 PM

  • Andrew,
there is a warning in the text about needing the correct number of images in the gallery or it will break. When the number of images is less than the total of images per gallery X number of galleries, it will break, because it's making a null call. As there's no real way to error check this, I added the warning.

  • ave attempted to download and install this web site preset but I have not had any luck unzipping the files. I am getting an error message about encryption. I am running Windows Vista on a PC. Thanks for the web site preset development.

  • I think you've done a great job on this and I am interested in getting a few things customized. Are you able to do this? For compensation of course.

  • I downloaded the Web Galleries and installed as instructed. However I get a HTML screen when I click on it in LR. I'm running Windows Vista 64 bit. Could that be my problem? Thanks

  • Do you have the minimum amount of images need?
you need to have number of images X number of galleries. So for 20 images per gallery and 3 galleries, you need 60 images.

By Blogger SeanMcC, At 10:51 PM

  • Sean, thanks! With all 60 images it works great. Another question - is there a way to move the images around, say in different order or gallery? Thanks again.

  • Create a collection and organise them there!
